2. MSU Purge Stream Recycling
Regeneration of the MSU columns often produces important amounts of water/ethanol vapor that needs to be recycled to the distillation columns in order to extract the ethanol content. This water/ethanol residual accounts for one third of the rectifying column feed. The Siftek™ system replaces this system treats the MSU recycle stream to improve operation efficiency by treating the water-ethanol vapor mixture coming from the existing MSU, thereby freeing the rectification column. In addition to energy saving, Siftek™ enables to increase production rate by 20% and beyond.
