Siftek™ Membrane Characteristics

Hollow Fibers
Vaperma Siftek™ membranes are manufactured in the form of hollow fibers in order to achieve high surface to module volume ratio. Standard Siftek™ modules are 100 m2 each.
Integrally Skinned
Siftek™ membranes are made out of one material (integrally-skinned), which eliminates the risk of membrane delamination or degradation of coating layers, sometimes an issue with composite membranes.
High Selectivity
The efficiency of Siftek™ membranes originates from the high selectivity of water vapor in comparison with permanent gases or condensable organics such as ethanol. Higher water permeance is primarily due to its higher rate of adsorption and diffusion across the membrane walls.
High Thermal and Chemical Stability
Vaperma Siftek™ membranes have high thermal and chemical stability due to the nature of the polymers used in the manufacture of the hollow fibers.
High Thermal and Pressure Resistance
The hollow fibers are made of polyimide, one of the strongest and most inert engineering polymer.
Excellent Mechanical Properties
Vaperma Siftek™ membranes proved to exhibit excellent properties in terms of  tensile strength properties , burst pressure, and resistance to hydrolysis.
